What Is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is a health and social care profession which is regulated by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages to improve their health and wellbeing, enabling them to carry out activities/occupations of everyday living such as:

  • Personal care eating, dressing, bathing and toileting
  • Domestic activities meal preparation, cooking, housework
  • Social and recreational activities hobbies, sports, games
  • Employment, paid or unpaid, training

We will work with you to identify your health and social care needs and assess how you manage everyday tasks at home.

We can work with you to identify goals that can help you maintain, regain, or improve your independence by using different techniques, changing your environment, and using equipment. We use the whole person approach.
